ABOUT MAXWELL THOMASON

I’m Maxwell Thomason, a Dallas-based concert photographer with 12 years of experience in live music photography, working inside venues, festivals, and touring productions across Texas and beyond.

My work focuses on documenting live performances accurately and efficiently, with a clear understanding of how venues, promoters, and production teams operate in real time.

I work regularly as a house photographer at American Airlines Center and have provided ongoing concert coverage at venues such as Toyota Music Factory through Live Nation. My experience comes from consistent, on-site work rather than isolated assignments, which means understanding access, sightlines, lighting changes, and production flow as shows unfold. Reliability and awareness matter in these environments, and my role is to work within them without slowing down the teams running the show.

Beyond venue coverage, I’ve traveled to numerous venues, arenas, and states providing live music photography through editorial partnerships. I work with publishers including Best Live Shows, which reaches an audience of over 300,000 followers, and Medium Rare, documenting touring artists and major performances for editorial and promotional use. That work requires speed, consistency, and the ability to deliver images that are immediately usable across platforms.

Working show after show has sharpened my ability to anticipate moments, adapt to unpredictable conditions, and produce images that reflect the performance as it actually happened.

I deliver a curated set of images, not bulk coverage. The goal is clarity and usefulness, photographs that support promotion, editorial coverage, and long-term archives without disrupting the performance or the people behind it.
